Joy Mojisola Raimi, 24, has been crowned Miss World Nigeria 2025, emerging victorious after competing against 36 other hopefuls. Born in Rivers State and proudly representing Osun, she is set to carry Nigeria’s flag to the global stage at the 72nd Miss World competition in Hyderabad, India, this May.
This wasn’t Raimi’s first time in the spotlight. Before this national win, she had already established a place for herself in the pageant world. In 2021, she won the Miss Port Harcourt City International title. In 2022, she represented Nigeria at the Miss Intercontinental competition in Egypt, finishing as the second runner-up. These experiences enhanced her poise and stage presence, further distinguishing her in the Miss World Nigeria finals.
Joy Mojisola Raimi stood out at this year’s event for her beauty, genuine presence, and emotional storytelling. Her courage to be vulnerable touched the hearts of judges and audience alike.
Raised without a mother and endured years of emotional abuse from a caregiver who often talked her down. “Growing up without a mother, I faced harassment and discouragement from the caregiver who raised me. She constantly told me I would never succeed. Yet, here I am, standing on this stage, living my purpose,” she recounts.
Raimi has been open about her journey. She has candidly shared how the trauma nearly silenced her dreams. Nevertheless, she chose a different healing path, embracing her truth rather than hiding.
A crowned heart for humanity
Beyond the runway and glittering gowns, Raimi is also motivated by compassion. She founded The Love for Humanity Project, an initiative that supports the underprivileged through feeding programmes, mental health outreach, and random acts of kindness. Her mission with this initiative is rooted in empathy and inspired by her experiences of hardship and rejection.
With her crown and a cause, Joy Mojisola Raimi is preparing to represent Nigeria among over 140 global delegates at the Miss World stage in India.
