Yvette Adounvo Atekpe is driving local innovation in Ghana’s ICT sector through her leadership of Dynamic Data Solutions Ltd.
Yvette Adounvo Atekpe, a longstanding figure in Ghana’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, currently serves as the CEO of Dynamic Data Solutions Ltd (also known as dds55). With over two decades of experience, she has played a pivotal role in shaping Ghana’s digital infrastructure through various leadership roles within the industry.
From corporate leadership to local ownership
Before founding Dynamic Data Solutions, Atekpe held executive positions at several ICT companies, beginning her career at Celltel Telecommunications and later working with Africa Online and Accelon. Accelon was eventually acquired by Dimension Data and rebranded as Internet Solutions Ghana, where she served as Managing Director for over 16 years. During her tenure, she supervised significant advancements in enterprise connectivity and digital service delivery in Ghana.
In early 2024, Atekpe led a management buyout of Dimension Data Ghana, transforming it into a fully Ghanaian-owned enterprise—Dynamic Data Solutions Ltd. The move marked a shift towards local ownership in a sector often dominated by multinational corporations. The rebranding to “dds55” shortly followed, highlighting a new strategic direction while maintaining relationships with global partners, including NTT, the parent company of Dimension Data.
Operational focus
Dynamic Data Solutions Ltd offers services in enterprise connectivity, cybersecurity, and cloud-based solutions. The company has retained much of the operational backbone of its predecessor while expanding its offerings to support the digital transformation of Ghanaian businesses.
In 2024, the company obtained Cybersecurity Establishment accreditation from Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority, further consolidating its role in national digital security efforts. dds55 also continues to be a “Preferred Partner” of NTT, maintaining access to global technologies and frameworks.
Yvette Adounvo Atekpe has indicated that the company’s strategic focus encompasses both technological advancement, with her leadership largely concentrating on empowering local expertise and creating growth opportunities for Ghanaian ICT professionals.
“Dynamic Data Solutions LTD is not just another company in the market; we are pioneers in innovation within the realm of cloud and connectivity. Our commitment to pushing technological boundaries and delivering cutting-edge solutions sets us apart. At our core is a passion for service, putting people first,” B&FT Online quoted Adounvo Atekpe saying.
Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Atekpe has actively championed increased female participation in technology-related fields. She has collaborated with Ghana’s Ministry of Communications and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to support initiatives aimed at digital literacy and STEM mentorship for girls and young women.
Industry recognition and contributions
Atekpe’s efforts have been recognised through various industry awards over the years. These include the ICT Woman of the Year award in 2014, the Marketing Woman of the Year award from the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana in 2017, and a Pan-African award from CEO Global in 2018. Most recently, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Awards (GITTA), acknowledging her long-standing influence on the industry.
While Ghana’s ICT sector continues to develop rapidly, Yvette Adounvo Atekpe remains at the forefront of this evolving landscape, striking a balance between global connectivity and local growth priorities.
