Bola Matel-Okoh coaches and empowers executive women while leading businesses across law, governance, wellness, and leadership development.
For over three decades, Bola Matel-Okoh has built a career anchored in law, executive leadership, and women’s empowerment, moving steadily from legal practice into corporate governance, entrepreneurship, and leadership coaching.
She began her career as a lawyer admitted to both the Nigerian Bar and the New York State Bar, specialising in Admiralty Law, Immigration Law, and insurance class action litigation. Being dual-qualified placed her in rigorous legal environments early on, enabling her to build a reputation for precision, strategic insight, and an exceptional ability to navigate complex regulatory systems.
Over the years, her work evolved beyond legal practice as she moved into senior leadership roles and eventually became a Non-Executive Director at Wema Bank PLC, where she contributes to corporate governance, strategic planning, and oversight across one of Nigeria’s major financial institutions.
Although her career was well-established, she noticed a recurring challenge among women in senior roles. High-performing executives still struggled with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and the internal conflict of leading confidently while questioning themselves privately.
This realisation pushed her toward a different kind of work, and in 2022, she founded BMO Advisory Services. The firm was intentionally built as a coaching and leadership development platform specifically for executive women who wanted to reset their mindset, refine their leadership presence, and rise into roles that demanded clarity and confidence.
Through BMO, she provides transformational leadership coaching, personal development coaching, leadership seminars and workshops designed to help women overcome limiting beliefs and strengthen their executive presence.
She focuses on helping women confront internal narratives shaped by years of external pressure, while her development programs help clients realign their careers, reset their priorities, and lead with authenticity.
Matel-Okoh’s impact extends beyond coaching sessions because BMO Advisory Services also operates the Women’s Lifestyle Hub, a community for women committed to personal growth, intentional living, and long-term leadership excellence.
The hub creates a space where executive women can build confidence rooted in preparation, experience, and capability, rather than performance anxiety or societal expectations. Many of the women she coaches credit her with helping them rebuild authentic self-belief, handle leadership transitions, and strengthen their professional visibility.
Furthermore, Bola Matel-Okoh leads Havilah Ventures, a company operating in real estate, corporate branding, and the health and wellness sector. She also manages N-Lounge and Spa, a customer-focused wellness business that emphasises care, service, and balance. Alongside these responsibilities, she hosts The Excellent Life Podcast, where she shares insights on personal and professional excellence with a wider audience.
