Ola Oladele has seen this reality play out too many times. And that’s why she has made it her life’s work to teach people how to take control of their money before their money takes control of them.
With over 15 years of extensive market experience, Oladele, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), began her career as a Treasury Naira Dealer at Kakawa Discount House. She later transitioned into fixed-income securities trading at FBNQuest Merchant Bank.
Ola Oladele, formerly an executive at Parthian Partners Limited, distinguished herself by pioneering Nigeria’s first Treasury bills investment app. Her work also encompassed commercial paper and bond issuances, which opened up new retail investment avenues. Her unique journey involved a pivot from the fast-paced corporate finance sector to tackle the widespread financial literacy deficit that traps many Nigerians in perpetual confusion and anxiety about their finances.
In 2021, she launched OlerOladele.com, a financial wellness social enterprise focused on simplifying personal finance and investing. She built it with a goal to reach everyday people with no background in finance, teach them in language they understand, and help them make smarter decisions without relying on hype or hearsay.
Through this platform, Ola Oladele founded The Money Wit Club, an exclusive investment community where professionals and entrepreneurs learn how to invest safely, grow their wealth consistently, and hold themselves accountable to long-term financial goals. Members across Nigeria, the UK, the US, and Canada receive curated education on market trends, policy shifts, and risk mitigation. The club doesn’t invest on anyone’s behalf but exists to empower individuals to make their own decisions with clarity and confidence.
Recognising the limitations of closed communities, she expanded her message to the public by launching The Money Wit Show, a weekly radio and podcast programme that now airs across Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, and is also available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. The show breaks down market news, personal finance strategies, and success stories for a broad audience who might never attend a workshop or join a club but still desperately need help building their finances.
Oladele has trained over 20,000 people and facilitated financial wellness programmes for companies such as CitiBank, Stanbic IBTC, MTN Nigeria, Shell, and Meristem Securities. She also teaches at Tekedia Mini MBA, Joseph Business School Lagos, and the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy.
Her influence extends beyond finance; she was named one of Nigeria’s Top 100 Career Women by 9to5 Chick and has been featured on the covers of Her Network and Guardian Woman. She also chairs the Gender Diversity Committee of the CFA Society Nigeria and has completed leadership programmes at Cambridge and Oxford.
