Early Life and Career

Born and raised in Tanzania, when female leadership was uncommon, she pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from the University of Dar es Salaam. Zaipuna’s professional career began in 2002 at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where she honed her auditing, financial management, and corporate governance skills. After nearly a decade at PwC, Zaipuna transitioned to Standard Chartered Bank in 2011, where she served as Executive Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. By 2017, she had expanded her influence, taking on the role of Business Finance Lead for East Africa, overseeing operations in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
